Our Cause

The Marisol Rivas Foundation is dedicated to offering medical supplies and assistance to breast cancer, lymphedema and orthotics patients in underdeveloped Latin American countries and where there is a need, impacting lives positively through our initiatives.

Our foundation strives to raise awareness and gather support to extend our reach and better serve those affected by these conditions and how many cannot reach any medical resources to cope with the process of such illnesses.

Meet Marisol

Marisol Rivas is a passionate author, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose mission is centered on compassion, service, and lasting change. With a deep commitment to health equity, she has spent years working closely with patients affected by breast cancer, lymphedema, and limited access to essential care.

Through her hands-on work, Marisol witnessed the overwhelming gaps in medical resources—especially across Latin American communities where supplies and support are often scarce. This eye-opening experience led her to found the Marisol Rivas Foundation, an organization dedicated to delivering medical supplies and hope to those most in need.

As President, Marisol leads with heart, vision, and a clear purpose: to restore dignity, improve health outcomes, and create ripple effects of kindness through every mission. Her leadership continues to inspire donors, volunteers, and partners who believe in the power of giving back.

Why our Mission Matters?

Up to 56% of breast cancer survivors in Latin America develop lymphedema In some regions like Brazil, studies show that 44% to 56% of women experience lymphedema after breast cancer surgery—often without access to proper care or compression garments. 30–40% of breast cancer cases in Latin America are diagnosed at advanced stages, compared to just 10% in high-income countries, many Latin American women face late diagnoses, requiring aggressive surgery and long-term rehabilitation—yet access to follow-up care is limited. Source: ASCO Educational Book, ecancer.org.
Many survivors are at risk of lymphedema: Globally, 20–40% of breast cancer survivors develop lymphedema post‑mastectomy—and in underserved regions, access to compression garments and rehab services is scarce, severely affecting recovery and quality of life Source: PMC
Orthotic care and rehabilitation services are largely unavailable in many underserved Latin American areas. In rural or low-resource zones, access to prosthetics, orthotics, and rehab devices is often nonexistent—leaving patients without the tools they need for recovery and mobility.
